Citizens Property Insurance Corporation (Citizens) was created by the Florida Legislature in August 2002 as a not-for-profit, tax-exempt, government entity.  Its mission is to provide insurance protection to Florida policyholders who are entitled to but are unable to find property insurance coverage in the private market.   In connection to its mission to the citizens of Florida, Citizens seeks dedicated and skilled employees who will provide quality service to our policyholders, internal and external customers, partners and stakeholders with the highest level of integrity, respect, responsiveness and sound judgement.

You are applying for a job at Citizens.  In connection with your application for employment, Citizens collects personal information from you, including your contact information, educational background, qualifications, prior job experience and other information needed for the job application process. In accordance with law, we may also require information about your legal authorization to work in the United States.

Citizens uses your personal information to process your employment application and consider it for open positions, which can include either a single, specific opening or additional potential openings beyond the scope of your original application. Citizens will store the information you provide for as long as it is needed or as otherwise required by applicable records retention laws.

Your information will be accessed by Citizens’ talent acquisition team and related functions (e.g., hiring management) to determine how well your application fits the position you have applied for, or possible future postings. Information may also be shared with Citizens’ relevant third-party service providers and with others as necessary to verify the information provided. If your application is successful, your data will be used for personnel administration including the establishment of a personnel record and management purposes. Your data might also be used for legal, regulatory and statistical purposes.

Your information will not be disclosed to other third parties or other government agencies, unless required by state or federal law, but please note that Florida public records law requires that all information received by a state entity be made available to anyone upon request, including e-mail addresses, unless the information is subject to a specific statutory exemption.

To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, Citizens uses security measures that comply with the law and best practices.  These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and storage offices.  Our employees, contractors and vendors are authorized to access information only for valid business reasons.  They must agree in writing to maintain the confidentiality of non-public personal information. 

  

Electronic Signature Acknowledgement: Citizens utilizes electronic documentation in some instances that requires applicants or employees to provide an electronic signature upon document completion, but prior to submittal.  This acknowledgement is to make applicants and employees aware that by submitting an electronic signature, they are providing an electronic mark that is held to the same standard as a legally binding equivalent of a handwritten signature provided by a signee. Any document requiring an electronic signature shall contain a signature acknowledge statement provided in the same area require the electronic signature.  Neither Citizens nor any of our third-party service providers accepts any liability whatsoever to candidates as a result of transmission of their personal data (including any errors, delays or failure in transmission) via the Internet.

Agreement:  By signing this Electronic Signature Acknowledgement form, I acknowledge that I have read the electronic signature disclosure and I agree that my electronic signature is the legally binding equivalent to my handwritten signature.  I will not, at any time in the future, repudiate the meaning of my electronic signature or claim that my electronic signature is not legally binding. You confirm that you agree to the above and that your information is accurate, true, complete, not misleading and in particular that you hold all academic and professional qualifications claimed. In addition, you agree that CPIC may take all reasonable steps permitted within the local legal framework to verify the information you provide at any time during the application and recruitment process. This could include checks with previous employers, academic and/or professional institutions and other agencies as permitted by law.
